Originally from CA, I earned my bachelor's degree in English from the University of California at Irvine, home of the mighty Anteaters. I came to Colorado State University in 1983 to pursue my master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration, now known as SAHE, and completed the program in 1985. Almost 30 years and an additional degree later (Ph.D. in sociology), I am still at the university! I was honored to help develop the Asian/Pacific American Cultural Center in 1984 and serve as the Director of that office for 20 years. In 2004, I moved into (removed the word “the”) administrative positions in the Vice President's office and currently serve as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. I co-teach the Inclusive University class with Lance Wright and am an advisor in the SAHE program. I also serve as the Equal Opportunity Coordinator for the Division of Student Affairs. I live with my husband Albert, my daughter Kylia, two dogs, and three horses – and am doing my best to keep chickens from being another addition to our “family.”

After graduating from Colorado State University, I traveled throughout the United States before coming back to CSU to pursue a Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education. I am currently the Dean of Student Services at Front Range Community College, Larimer Campus and I co-teach the College Student Personnel Administration course. I live in Longmont in a 100 year old house with my partner, Ron, and our two children, Cameron who will start middle school this year and Connor who is going into 4th grade. Because both boys play soccer, most of our free time is on the soccer field or watching the Rapids! We all love to hike, camp and travel. My research interests include leadership and professional development, succession planning, and student affairs within community colleges.

With a B.A. and M.S from the University of Colorado and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, I have worked as a Campus Recreation Director, Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs. In 2006, I returned to my native state of Colorado to be closer to my mother and siblings and to have more time with my two adopted daughters from China and partner, Jama. It is a privilege to be associated with the faculty and students in the SAHE program.
